Doha Metro Red Line opens to the public and welcomes first passengers on board

Today is a historic day for Qatar with the official public opening of the impressive Doha Metro Red Line- part of the new rapid transit system in Doha, Qatar's capital city.
It is the first line to open to passengers and we are more than excited to see our architectural work over the years, finally, turn into reality. We are proud to see the Metro System start serving the citizens and to be part of Qatar Rail's efforts for "accomplishing a vision".
The initial operation includes 13 out of 18 Doha Metro Red Line North stations: Al Qassar, DECC, QIC West Bay, Corniche, Al Bidda (Interchange Station), Msheireb (Interchange Station), Al Doha Al Jadeda, Umm Ghawalina, Al Matar Al Qadeem, Oqba Ibn Nafie, Free Zone, Ras Bu Fontas and Al Wakra.
