Egon Zehnder is a headhunting company whose Milan branch is situated in a palace close to the Duomo, at Via Santa Margherita 7. The building is full of history, rich in mosaics and ancient fresco. The client decided to run a competition to refurbish 120sqm of the back office as a benchmark for the whole block.
Our approach was to start with the story of the building, selecting key elements and historical patterns, then re-interpreting and integrating those graphics and finishes for the new interior design concept.
Special attention was given to technical equipment and natural lighting to create a comfortable environment for their employees. The open office layout was studied in detail to fit all different types of necessary functions.
Terazzo on the floor and boiserie on the walls are inspired by the history of the palace. The new pattern applied to the meeting room screen is developed from an existing geometric floor decoration.
The open office is implemented by creating a new meeting room, two phone booths and a flexi room, giving users several new spaces according to their needs.
