Passage du Havre Shopping Arcade

Passage du Havre Shopping Arcade

An enlightening refurbishment with the introduction of new iconic chandelier

One Works was invited to develop a design concept as part of a design competition regarding the restyling of a historical passage, built at the end of the 19th century and refurbished in the 80’s, in front of the Gare Saint Lazare in Paris.

The two-level arcade hosts a major Fnac store (media shop) and a series of small boutiques. The project’s scope was to enhance and upgrade the premises and the proposal includes a significant interior renovation work, starting with a new roof garden café, the enhancing of the three entrances facing the public boulevards and the Passages’ inner central plaza Refurbishment.

Only parts of the proposal were retained. Above the escalators a vast illuminated chandelier consisting of 120 hand blown glass drops from Murano creates a glittering play of lights giving additional vibrancy to the space.
