Hangar X is a new purpose-built, state-of-the-art hangar that represents an important infrastructural growth milestone for leading business aviation operators, Sea Prime, and aircraft maintenance firm, Sirio, and has been designed to accommodate the next generation of aircraft dedicated to business aviation.
Designed by One Works, the new Hangar X will allow Sirio to expand its capacity and offer the entire maintenance process in a single infrastructure. Purpose-built as a state-of-the-art facility for base and line maintenance, it features underfloor heating, an overhead crane and features a design that provides natural light from all four sides of the surface.
Boasting a surface area of 4,700 sqm, the new hangar has also been certified as BREEAM Excellent with a design that includes a range of sustainability features, including a wastewater recovery and recycling system, and a photovoltaic system on the roof.
Dedicated to the shelter of aircraft and their maintenance, the new hangar structure is characterised by a metal carpentry roof supported by two extrados arches modelled on the Breda Hangar and in visual continuity with the rest of the buildings in the same area.
