NATURALLY HUMAN – One Works Headquarters
From 18-22 April, located in the courtyard outside the One Works Headquarters at via Sciesa 3, NATURALLY HUMAN will be staged. A series of anthropomorphic wooden installations that will accompany people in the space offering human dimensions of the city away from the chaos.
Wood will be the protagonist of the installation representing the link between nature, man, and the spaces we live. The materials will be supplied and shaped by Brugnotto Group, a contemporary carpentry workshop equipped to create furnishing products that makes respect for the environment, in all business processes, the key value of its strategy. To colour and enrich the installation, ICA Group‘s Arborea BIO outdoor water-based paints, formulated with renewable waste materials, will be used.
“HOW TO DESIGN HUMAN-CENTERED CITIES” – Online Talk
On 19 April from 6.30pm, One Works and ICA Group will be hosting a special online talk on the topic of how to design human-centered cities.
At the center of the debate is the theme of the connection between design and people: an open and interdisciplinary reflection on how to make cities and urban infrastructure – homes, commercial spaces, streets, and stations – places capable of building and fostering communities, whilst facilitating social interaction.
Streamed live on both One Works and ICA Group’s YouTube channels, the discussion will be moderated by Managing Partner of One Works, Leonardo Cavalli, and includes special guests:
TANGIBLE & INTANGIBLE – ‘Interni Design Re-Evolution’ exhibition-event
In collaboration with leading building material manufacturers, Mapei, and coatings expert, ICA Group, One Works will be launching a special installation that explores the relationship between the material and the immaterial in architecture and construction.
As part of the Interni Design Re-Evolution event at Università degli Studi di Milano Statale (17 – 26 April) visitors will experience and explore a cultural dualism between the existing building materials that define architecture and cities today, and the immaterial world of what could be the architecture and cities of tomorrow.
To achieve this, two large totems have been designed to sit side-by-side along a path drawn on a platform. The first totem is a sensory experience related to the ‘Tangible’ and will be composed of layers of building materials that disappear to the human eye when the architectural work is completed (i.e. mortars, sealants, plasters and other Mapei materials) overlapped with various essential elements for construction, (i.e. metal profiles, wood and glass) painted with ICA Group products and brick blocks.
The second ‘Intangible‘ totem defined by a thin metal profile that creates a visually empty parallelepiped, which comes alive by inviting visitors into the immaterial world of virtual experience. Through a game that uses artificial intelligence, people will immerse themselves in what could be the architecture and cities of tomorrow.
We look forward to being part of this year’s FUORISALONE 2023 and seeing you there!
A spectacular experience of virtual reality, debates, and photography, designed by One Works and ICA Group in collaboration Sanlorenzo, to bring the public and industry on board a journey to explore the future of the sea.
“Financing the sustainable infrastructures of the future”, was discussed at One Works, in Milan, at the annual conference established in 2021 by UNECE and LIUC – Cattaneo University.
